The aim is to improve and promote security, quality and general wholesomeness of food through development and specialized consulting services.
The primary goal is to emphasize the importance of chemical analysis with regards to the composition of ingredients in the production of food and feed and the changes that occur in the quality and safety of food during its production and storage e.g. nutritional value, shelf-life and durability. Chemical analysis is used to monitor pesticides in vegetables and fruits and to service various local food and feed producers by measuring and informing them of the quality of their produce and of any unwanted chemicals (e.g. heavy metals, PCB's, pesticides). The division is also equipped to conduct research into the persistency of organic pollutants in food and feed.
Our specialists have extensive knowledge of chemical research. Their expertise covers: measuring of inorganic trace elements (such as selenium, etc...), organic trace elements (such as pesticides, PCB's, dioxin, etc...) and other general chemical analysis; protein, fat, water, salt, ash, TVN & TMA, Rotamin, testing for rancidity, fatty acid analysis and more.
