Barley for food

 

The project´s objective is to utilize the results of the project “Increased the value of the Icelandic barley”, which was funded by The Agricultural Productivity Fund in the years 2006-8, and encourage the use of the Icelandic barley in the Icelandic food industry.

The purpose of the project is as follows: (1) Preparation of quality guidelines for barley. (2) Description of good manufactoring practises and quality control for farmers that deliver barley for food. (3) Dissemination of possibilities to use barley for food. (4) Small scale survey on consumer views of domestic barley. (5) Testing of small scale malting of barley.
