A key aspect of operations at Matís is to engage in applied research with the goal of increasing the value of food processing and -production in Iceland as well as to ensure the safety and quality of Icelandic products.
To fulfill this mission Matís engages in the following food safety activities:
- Conducts fundamental and applied research
- Provides accurate and useful information and expertise
- Delivers quality education and training
- Provides leadership in identifying and resolving food safety issues to meet community, government, and industry needs
