R&D at Matis

A key aspect of operations at Matis is to engage in applied research with the goal of increasing the value of food processing and -production in Iceland as well as to ensure the safety and quality of Icelandic products.

To fulfill this mission Matis engages in the following food safety activities:

  • Conducts fundamental and applied research
  • Provides accurate and useful information and expertise
  • Delivers quality education and training 
  • Provides leadership in identifying and resolving food safety issues to meet community, government, and industry needs
